Bryan Lance grew up in upstate New York, tagging along with his father to the tree stand and bass boat before he even enrolled in kindergarten. Those years set the stage for what he describes as an obsession for chasing big whitetails and long beards. In 2012, Bryan chased his dream to work in the hunting industry and hunt in Iowa, landing an internship with Bill Winke and the crew at Midwest Whitetail. After his internship ended, Bryan decided to make Southeast Iowa home.
Bryan’s favorite aspect of hunting whitetails is creating history with specific bucks over multiple years and the “chess match” that ensues once a buck is at a targeted age. He believes that harvesting deer is obviously fun, but harvest a specific deer is the most satisfying.
If Bryan isn’t in a tree stand with a bow in his hand, you can find him stomping miles through the timber during shed season, prepping his ground for an upcoming season, or throwing top water in some secluded Iowa farm pond.
